I think that all writing is useful for honing writing skills. I think you get better as a writer by writing, and whether that means that you’re writing a singularly deep and moving novel about the pain or pleasure of modern existence or you’re writing Smeagol-Gollum slash you’re still putting one damn word after another and learning as a writer.

(I just made that up. I imagine it would go something like: “Oh, the preciouss, we takes it our handssses and we rubs it and touchess it, gollum….no, Smeagol musst not touch the preciousss, the master said only he can touch the precioussss…. bad masster, he doess not know the precious like we does, no, gollum, and we wants it, we wants it hard in our handses, yesss…” etc etc)

feel free to provide me with a copy, too poor to buy one and the library here sucks for fiction

alexipyretic:

I approve of your reading choices so hard. If your brain is tired, I recommend Gaiman’s short stories because they’re less demanding but still completely fucking amazing.

I am also super poor but here have a few of them posted free on his website.

One of Us - Neil Gaiman

He writes fanfic. Cthulhu Mythos mostly, he wrote a crossover fic featuring Jeeves and Wooster as well.

I’ve always wondered what women do during their periods in certain stories

Do they have pads and tampons in the wizarding world? or do they just cast some super absorbing spell on their underwear?

Are girls allowed to bring tampons to the Hunger Games arena?
Or do they have to publicly announce that they are on their period and hope a sponsor will send a parachute?
Or do they have to make their own out of moss?

I always enjoyed trying to guess at what point in Twilight Bella would be on her rag. It was hard, because she was a whiny, moody bitch the whole time.

In Tamora Pierce’s world, they wear cloth pads and drink willow bark tea (i.e. aspirin) to deal with the cramps.

BTAS Season 1 Episode 14 “Heart of Ice”

I failed you.  I wish there were another way for me to say it.

So I made this because of this.
Feel free to use if you are planning on seducing a writer. Or writer-like person. Or anyone, really.

I thought, I wonder if anyone’s made one, yet. So I looked, and there it was. I love it when things move at the speed of internet.

Logan: But actually Niall has made an effort and he hangs out with us quite often. He watched our acoustic soundcheck yesterday. We pulled him out on stage and embarrassed the crap out of him.

Let me love you down for loving Keladry as I do.

She’s one of those characters who actually inspires me to live by her example and be a better person.
